BOISE, ID – The Idaho Steelheads put on a clinic at Idaho Central Arena on Wednesday night, crushing the Allen Americans 7-0 in a game that showcased their offensive firepower and defensive resilience. Backstopped by a flawless 27-save shutout from Ben Kraws, the Steelheads controlled every aspect of the game from puck drop to the final buzzer.

Relive Idaho’s dominant shutout win with every goal and big play!

First Period: A Statement Start

The Steelheads wasted no time asserting their dominance, striking first at 9:53 when Patrick Kudla found the back of the net off assists from Demetrios Koumontzis and Nick Canade. Idaho continued to apply pressure, and Mason McCarty doubled the lead at 14:29, capitalizing on a setup from Jade Miller and Reece Harsch.

Just two minutes later, Demetrios Koumontzis added to the tally with a goal of his own, assisted by Wade Murphy, sending the Steelheads into the first intermission with a commanding 3-0 lead.

Second Period: No Let-Up

The onslaught continued in the second frame. At 8:38, Kaleb Pearson extended the lead to 4-0 off a feed from Parker Berge and Brendan Hoffmann. Less than a minute later, Reece Harsch made it 5-0, capitalizing on crisp passes from A.J. White and Matt Register.

Allen attempted to respond but could not solve Kraws, who turned aside all 15 shots he faced in the period. The Americans swapped goaltenders midway through, replacing Anson Thornton with Luke Richardson, but the change did little to slow Idaho’s momentum.

Third Period: Finishing in Style

Francesco Arcuri wasted no time in the final period, netting Idaho’s sixth goal at 1:39 with Trevor Zins providing the assist. Wade Murphy then put the exclamation point on the night with an 18:03 goal assisted by Ty Pelton-Byce, capping off a complete team effort.

Lockdown Defense & Goaltending Brilliance

While the Steelheads’ offense stole the show, Kraws’ goaltending was just as impressive. The rookie netminder turned away all 27 shots he faced, securing his shutout with poise and control. The Steelheads’ defense was equally effective, limiting Allen to just six shots in the first and third periods while keeping their power play off the board.

By the Numbers

  • Shots on Goal: Idaho 39, Allen 27

  • Power Plays: Idaho 1/3, Allen 0/3

  • Saves: Ben Kraws 27/27 (100% SV%), Allen’s goalies combined 32/39

Looking Ahead

The Steelheads will look to build on this dominant performance as they continue their homestand. With their offense firing on all cylinders and Kraws proving to be a brick wall in net, Idaho has made a strong statement heading into the final stretch of the season.
