BOISE, Idaho – March 4, 2025
Boise State women’s basketball ended its regular-season campaign on a high note, pulling away late to defeat Utah State 72-59 at ExtraMile Arena. The Broncos used a dominant fourth quarter to secure the win, outscoring the Aggies 26-16 in the final frame.
Pasco and Thompson Lead the Charge
Sophomore guard Natalie Pasco and junior forward Tatum Thompson were the difference-makers, combining for 46 points in the victory. Pasco led all scorers with 25 points on 9-of-18 shooting, including four three-pointers, while Thompson poured in 21 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and dished out four assists. The duo was especially dominant in the second half, accounting for 34 of Boise State’s 46 points after the break.
“It was important for us to finish strong at home,” Pasco said postgame. “We wanted to build momentum heading into the tournament, and I think we did that tonight.”
Fourth Quarter Surge
The game remained tight through three quarters, with Boise State holding a slim 46-43 lead heading into the final 10 minutes. Pasco and Thompson took over in the fourth, with Pasco draining back-to-back three-pointers to push the lead into double digits. Thompson followed with five straight points, capping off a decisive 12-2 run that put the game out of reach.
The Broncos finished the game shooting 43.3% from the field, while Utah State struggled at 35.9%. Before tipoff, Boise State honored its seniors—Alyssa Christensen, Jayda Clark, Allie Hueckman, Elodie Lalotte, Linsey Lovrovich, Abby Muse, Mackenzie Naro, and Mary Kay Naro—along with manager Jazzy Jenkins, celebrating their contributions to the program. Boise State also dominated the glass, winning the rebounding battle 45-30. The victory marked the Broncos’ eighth consecutive win over Utah State and their fourth straight at ExtraMile Arena.
Stubbs and Heaton Carry Utah State
For Utah State, Cheyenne Stubbs and Jamisyn Heaton each put up 17 points, trying to keep the Aggies competitive. Stubbs, the team’s leading scorer on the season, fought through a tough Boise State defense but couldn’t spark enough of a comeback.
“We battled, but their rebounding and physicality made the difference,” Utah State head coach said after the game.
Looking Ahead
With the victory, Boise State finishes the regular season at 17-14 (7-11 MW) and now shifts its focus to the Mountain West Tournament. The Broncos enter the postseason with a much-needed confidence boost, while Utah State (4-26, 3-15 MW) closes out a challenging season with a tough road loss.
Boise State will now head to Las Vegas, where they will face Nevada in the first round of the Mountain West Tournament on Sunday.
