Boise State Athletics announced Thursday that the Broncos football program will move to the west sideline at Albertsons Stadium beginning with the 2025 season, marking the first time since the stadium opened in 1970 that the team will not be positioned on the east sideline during home games.

The change is being made in preparation for the completion of the North End Zone Project, which is currently under construction and on track to be finished prior to the 2026 season. As part of the renovation, a new player tunnel and field access point is being built closer to the west sideline, prompting the program to make the move ahead of schedule. Boise State’s student section will remain on the east side of the stadium.

A Shift 55 Years in the Making

Since the opening of Albertsons Stadium in 1970, Boise State has consistently operated from the east sideline during home games. The upcoming change represents a rare and symbolic shift for the program as it enters a new era under Head Coach Spencer Danielson and continues investment in its facilities and fan experience.

The Stueckle Sky Center, which features the university’s premier premium seating areas and donor amenities, is also located on the west side of the stadium.

Season Ticket Relocation Process in May

Fans who currently hold season tickets on the east side of the stadium and are interested in sitting behind the Broncos bench on the west side will have the opportunity to move their seats through Boise State’s annual relocation process, scheduled to take place in mid-May. Full details on the process will be sent to season ticket holders via email on May 1, according to the athletic department.

North End Zone Project Details

Construction on the North End Zone Project began in January 2025. Once complete, it will bring significant enhancements to Albertsons Stadium, including:

  • Approximately 1,600 new premium seats

  • 12 field-level suites

  • 44 loge boxes

  • 148 ledge seats

  • Over 800 club-level seats

  • New concession areas and restrooms

  • A full 360-degree concourse for improved stadium circulation

No additional seating reconfigurations for the 2025 season have been announced beyond the sideline change.

Key Dates

  • Spring Game: Saturday, April 19 at 1:30 p.m. at Albertsons Stadium

General admission and parking are free. A postgame autograph session will follow the scrimmage. Premium seating is available through the Boise State Athletics Ticket Office.

  • 2025 Season Opener: Thursday, Aug. 28 at South Florida

  • Home Opener: Saturday, Sept. 6 vs. Eastern Washington

Additional home games include matchups against Appalachian State, New Mexico, UNLV, Fresno State, and Colorado State.

With construction progressing and a new era taking shape on The Blue, the 2025 season will mark more than just another fall slate, it will be the beginning of a new home-field configuration for Boise State. As the Broncos shift to the west sideline for the first time in program history, the move symbolizes both a physical and philosophical step forward for the program’s future.
